Uluwatu located on the western cliffs of the Bukit Peninsula, has always been a favourite for surfers. These days though with its laid-back vibes, beautiful beaches and food scene, all types of travellers are choosing Uluwatu as a spot on their Bali Itinerary.
Uluwatu is one of my favourite places on the island. We stay here every year, and we even got married on the beautiful cliffside at Uluwatu Surf Villas! There are so many amazing restaurants and cafes! So what are the best cafes in Uluwatu, you ask? Well, just like Canggu, Uluwatu has some amazing cafes featuring artisanal coffee, smoothie bowls, hearty brunches and plant-based creations.
If you’re on the hunt for the ultimate cafe experience in Uluwatu, look no further! Here’s our curated guide to the best cafes in Uluwatu to fuel your Bali adventure.

Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach by IHG – Where we stayed!
🏆 9.4 rating on booking.com
It sits right on the beachfront which means you walk straight out for morning beach walks and you’re perfectly placed for sunset drinks without going anywhere.
Mana Uluwatu
Mana Uluwatu holds a very particular place in our Bali story. They catered both our wedding and my sister’s wedding at Uluwatu Surf Villas — which means we’ve eaten Mana’s food on two of the most significant days of our lives, and across countless mornings, lunches and dinners in between during our stays at the Uluwatu Surf Villas (the best hotel in Uluwatu) over the years. At this point we know the menu the way you know a favourite restaurant at home — the one you go back to not because you feel obliged to but because nothing else quite compares.
Perched on a hill overlooking the Indian Ocean, Mana Uluwatu is more than just a cafe—it’s an experience and one of the top things to do in Bali — but the food more than carries its weight. The menu is modern and thoughtful, built around local and organic ingredients, and it covers breakfast through to dinner in a way that makes it easy to spend an entire day there without feeling like you’ve overstayed. The smoothie bowls in the morning, the grain bowls and wraps at lunch, the more considered dinner plates as the sky turns gold over the water — it all works.
But what makes Mana genuinely special beyond the food and the view is the atmosphere. It’s calm in a deliberate way — no loud music, no screens — and the clifftop setting means the ocean is always in the frame, whether you’re working through a coffee at 7am or watching the sunset over a cocktail. If you only go to one cafe in Uluwatu, make it this one. And if you’re getting married at Uluwatu Surf Villas — you already know who to call.
- Location: Pantai Suluban St, Pecatu, South Kuta, Badung Regency
- Why we love it: Stunning ocean views, sustainable practices, and relaxing vibes.
- Best for: A post-surf lunch or sunset cocktails.

Suka Espresso
Suka Espresso (also a favourite Canggu Cafe and Ubud Cafe) is an Uluwatu institution, known for its all-day breakfast and Instagram-worthy dishes. Think perfectly poached eggs, vibrant acai bowls, and a killer smashed avocado toast. The relaxed outdoor seating and friendly service make it a must-visit for travellers.
Suka is always a yes for us. Hands down, it has some of the best coffee in Uluwatu, and the breakfasts are consistently excellent. I went for the smashed avo this time and it didn’t disappoint. My favourite move is to grab takeaway for lunch after a swim at Thomas Beach. The salads are so fresh and generous, and they’re exactly what you want after a morning in the sun and salt water.
If you’re heading down to the beach with kids, order ahead and pick it up on the way back for an easy, healthy lunch without the restaurant wrangling.
What to order: The smashed avo for breakfast, a coffee (non-negotiable), and a salad to take away after the beach.
Family friendly: Yes.
- Location: Jl. Labuansait No.10, Pecatu, Kec. Kuta Sel., Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361
- Why we love it: Amazing coffee, creative dishes, and a welcoming vibe.
- Best for: Long brunches and people-watching.

Cashew Tree Cafe
Cashew Tree has been a family favourite for years. When we stayed at Elementum and Castaways Villa, it was just a two-minute walk from our door, so it quickly became our default whenever the kids got hungry, which is always. It’s one of the best spots in Uluwatu for little ones.
The kids’ meals are genuinely cute, and there’s a playground where they can burn off energy while you finish your coffee. The menu for adults is extensive too, so there’s something for everyone, whether you’re after a big breakfast, a fresh lunch or an early dinner. On our most recent trip, our nanny took the kids there on her own because they love the food so much. That tells you everything.
- Location: Jl. Pantai Bingin No.9, Pecatu, Kec. Kuta Sel., Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361
- Why we love it: Tranquil vibes and excellent food variety.
- Best for: Evening hangouts and live music nights.

Nourish Cafe
True to its name, Nourish Cafe focuses on wholesome, nutrient-packed dishes. Their menu is perfect for the health-conscious traveller, offering gluten-free, dairy-free, and keto options. The cozy interiors make it a great spot to unwind after a morning surf.
Nourish is one of those places we find ourselves at again and again. The menu is fresh, simple and easy to navigate with kids, and nothing is overcomplicated. I usually go for the shakshuka, which is hearty and full of flavour. What makes it so practical for families is what’s around it. Nourish has its own small wholefoods store stocked with healthy snacks for kids, and Island Foods, a well-stocked mini supermarket, is right next door. It’s the perfect breakfast-and-grocery-run combo when you’re staying in a villa.
What to order: The shakshuka.
Family friendly: Yes. There’s an easy menu, plus kids’ snacks at the wholefoods store.
- Location: Jl. Labuansait No.52, Pecatu, Kec. Kuta Sel., Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361, Indonesia
- Why we love it: Clean, delicious food and a welcoming ambience.
- Best for: Health enthusiasts and mindful eaters.

Kynd Cafe
If you’ve been to Kynd’s Seminyak location you’ll already know what to expect — and the Uluwatu outpost delivers exactly that, but with the clifftop Bukit energy instead of the Petitenget strip. Same iconic smoothie bowls, same beautifully vibrant plant-based menu, same aesthetic that makes everything look as good as it tastes. Kynd in Uluwatu has become one of our go-to breakfast spots when we’re based on the Bukit — the dragon fruit smoothie bowl is non-negotiable and the coffee is consistently good.
It sits right on the Labuansait strip which means it’s perfectly placed for a morning stop before hitting the beaches or after a Campuhan-style morning walk through the area. If you’re staying at Uluwatu Surf Villas, Nisi Villas or Family Nest it’s a very short drive and worth making the ritual every morning.

Bukit Cafe
Bukit Cafe has been a fixture on the Pecatu strip for as long as I can remember, and it’s easy to see why it’s lasted. The staff are wonderful with kids. The moment we sat down, they brought colouring pencils and pages over for ours and stopped to chat with them, which bought us a peaceful coffee.
The breakfast menu is enormous, so it’s a good pick when everyone wants something different. I had the breakfast tacos and Matt went for the brekkie burger, with a hazelnut latte on the side. Afterwards, we wandered through the market nearby and walked home. Along the way we passed cows grazing on one of the last open patches of Bingin, a reminder of what this area used to look like before the villas moved in.
What to order: The breakfast tacos or the brekkie burger, with a hazelnut latte.
Family friendly: Yes. Staff hand out colouring supplies and are genuinely great with kids.
- Location: Labuan Sait, Jl. Labuansait, Pecatu, Kec. Kuta Sel., Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361, Indonesia
- Why we love it: Diverse menu with something for everyone.
- Best for: Families and groups with different dietary needs.

Baked Uluwatu
Baked Uluwau ( also one of our favourite Seminyak Cafes) is our go-to spot for glorious baked goods! Known for its freshly baked goods, buttery croissants, and excellent coffee, this cool cafe brings a slice of Europe to Bali. Their breakfast menu includes standout dishes like eggs on sourdough and granola bowls, making it a perfect spot to start your day. My go-to order is their avo bagel and hazelnut ice latte!
- Location: Jl. Labuansait No.10 Unit 11, Pecatu, Kec. Kuta Sel., Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361
- Why we love it: Freshly baked pastries, artisanal bread, and cozy vibes.
- Best for: A quick breakfast or coffee break.

The Ant’s Pants
The Ant’s Pants is the restaurant at Family Nest Villas — and if you’ve been to Family Nest for the Pangolin Kids Club (which we highly recommend), this is the natural extension of the day. Located right on the Family Nest property on Jl. Pantai Cemongkak, it’s a purpose-built family dining concept with something genuinely rare in Uluwatu: dedicated zoned seating for families, an all-day menu designed for both adults and kids, poolside lounge dining, and the kind of space where nobody gives you a look when your toddler makes noise.
The menu covers fresh, balanced meals across all-day dining — adult meals with real thought behind them alongside genuinely good kids options that aren’t just plain pasta and nuggets. The grab-and-go options are useful if you’re heading out to the beaches for the day and want to pick up lunch on the way.

It fills a real gap in Uluwatu’s dining scene — most of the best cafes and restaurants are brilliant for couples and adults, but genuinely family-welcoming restaurants where kids are the point rather than an afterthought are rare. The Ant’s Pants is one of the few that gets this right.
- Address: Jl. Labuansait, Jl. Pantai Cemongkak, Pecatu, Uluwatu (at Family Nest Experience Villas)
- Hours: All-day dining — check familynest.com for current hours
- Instagram: @theantspants.bali
- What to order: All-day breakfast menu, kids meals, grab-and-go options
- Family friendly: ⭐ Yes — purpose-built family dining with kids entertainment

Yeye’s Warung
Yeye’s Warung is a laid-back eatery in Uluwatu, perfectly situated between Padang Padang and Uluwatu Beach. More than just a typical warung, Yeye’s has a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, making it a favourite spot for surfers.
The Warung offers authentic Indonesian foods as well as other Asian, and Western meals, my favourite though is the nasi campur. With cheap beers, generous portions, and budget-friendly prices starting at just IDR 35,000 (~$2 USD), it’s an ideal spot for hungry surfers and backpackers looking for a satisfying meal without breaking the bank. The warung also features a small gift shop, where you can pick up local souvenirs and handmade crafts.
- Location: Jl. Labuansait No.250, Pecatu, Kec. Kuta Sel., Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361, Indonesia
- Why we love it: Fresh cheap local food
- Best for: A quick cheap lunch

FAQ SECTION — Best Cafes in Uluwatu
What is the best cafe in Uluwatu?
Mana Uluwatu is our overall top pick — clifftop views over the Indian Ocean, a plant-forward menu that works from breakfast through dinner, and a calm no-screens atmosphere that’s completely its own thing. They catered both our wedding and my sister’s at Uluwatu Surf Villas, which tells you how much we trust the food. If you only go to one cafe in Uluwatu, make it Mana. For smoothie bowls specifically, Kynd Community on Labuansait is a very close second.
What is the best cafe in Uluwatu for families?
The Ant’s Pants at Family Nest Villas is the standout family dining option — purpose-built for families with zoned seating, a kids menu with real thought behind it, and the whole Family Nest/Pangolin Kids Club ecosystem on the same property. Milkamadoo in the Bingin area is also excellent for family groups — a warehouse-style space with a playground, loads of room, and a menu that covers both adults and kids well. Book a Café on the Labuansait strip is another favourite — the staff brought colouring to the table for Kylo before we’d even ordered.
Is there good coffee in Uluwatu?
Yes — the cafe scene in Uluwatu has improved dramatically over the last five years. Drifter Surf & Coffee in Bingin is the standout for specialty coffee. Mana and Kynd both serve consistently good coffee alongside their food menus. Book a Café does excellent espresso. Gooseberry on the clifftop strip is worth knowing for both coffee and the views.
Are there cafes in Uluwatu open for breakfast?
Yes — most cafes on the Labuansait strip and in Bingin open between 7am and 8am. Book a Café opens early and the breakfast menu is extensive (three pages). Mana opens at 7am and is at its best in the morning before the beach club crowd arrives. Milkamadoo is good for a group family breakfast any time from 8am.
Are Uluwatu cafes family friendly?
More so than they used to be. The Ant’s Pants is purpose-built for families. Bukit Cafe and Milk & Madu are both genuinely good with young children. Mana and Kynd are spacious and calm enough to work well for families. The beach club cafes (Single Fin, Ulu Cliff House) are better suited to older kids and adults.
