The Bingin strip in particular has exploded in the last few years. What used to be a quiet surf town is now home to some genuinely world-class dining: French bistros that have quietly been doing their thing for years, Japanese izakayas perched above the beach, and new-wave European restaurants that could hold their own in any major city. Meanwhile, the stretch along Jalan Labuan Sait near Padang Padang has become the go-to for a buzzy dinner-and-drinks night out, with everything from wood-fired share plates to Mexican street food and a limestone cave degustation.

Where Are the Best Restaurants in Uluwatu – Map?
Uluwatu’s restaurant scene is spread across a few distinct pockets, which can be confusing if it’s your first time navigating the Bukit Peninsula. The main dining strip runs along Jalan Labuan Sait near Padang Padang — this is where you’ll find Bartolo, Tabu, Masonry, and Tacos Aqui all within easy reach of each other, making it the best base for a dinner-and-drinks night out.
Bingin, a five-minute drive away, has its own excellent and slightly more laid-back food scene, with Yuki on the beach, El Cabron and Gooseberry on the clifftops, Mana up at Uluwatu Surf Villas, and Abracadabra tucked just off the main road.

If you ask anyone who’s been to Uluwatu recently where to go for a proper dinner, Masonry is almost always the answer. Brought to Uluwatu by the same hospitality group behind some of Canggu’s best-loved spots, Masonry has quickly become one of the most talked-about dinner restaurants in Uluwatu right now – and after our anniversary meal there this trip, we completely understand why.
We arrived at 4pm on a weekday, kid-free for the evening, and it was already half full. That tells you everything about how popular this place has become. The fit-out is beautiful: industrial-warm, with an open kitchen, low lighting, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to stay for another round even after the desserts arrive.
We went hard on the menu. Dips and bread to start – the baba ganoush and hummus were outstanding – followed by a selection of cold cuts and pickles, a ceviche (mandatory for us at any good Uluwatu restaurant), and a roasted cabbage dish that I didn’t expect to love as much as I did.
For mains, we ordered the roast chicken, green beans, and a potato purée that I’m still thinking about. Dessert was a raspberry pavlova and a warm cookie with salted caramel ice cream. Genuinely some of the best desserts we’ve had in Bali. This was our best meal of the entire trip.

2. Yuki
Yuki is a modern Japanese izakaya with locations across Bali — Canggu, Uluwatu, and Ubud — and the Uluwatu outpost on Jalan Labuansait has quickly earned its place among the best restaurants on the strip. The open-air dining room is stylish without being fussy, with a social atmosphere that works equally well for a lazy lunch or a group dinner night out.
We visited for lunch with the kids and it was one of those meals where everything just clicked. High chairs were ready without us asking, and the waitresses were so lovely with the babies — at one point they even took them for a little while so we could actually eat in peace, which as any parent knows is an absolute gift.
The menu centres on wood-fired and charcoal-grilled dishes made with line-caught fish and locally sourced Balinese produce, with Japanese technique running through everything. Standouts for us were the wagyu sandwich, the tuna tartare, and the yakitori — honestly, order all of it. The cocktails are also excellent and not an afterthought, which is always a good sign. There are plant-based options too if you need them.
It’s the kind of restaurant that holds its own against anything you’d find in Canggu or Seminyak — just with an easier walk home if you’re based along Labuansait.

4. Osteria Luna
If you’re after Italian in Uluwatu that doesn’t feel like a consolation prize, Osteria Luna is exactly where you want to be. We ended up going twice on this trip – we were originally booked the first night, pushed our reservation, and then loved it enough to slot it back in – and it earned its place on this list both times.
The pizza is excellent. Our kids demolished theirs, which is the most reliable review metric I know. We also had a high chair for Zadi, which was sorted without us even asking – a small thing that makes a big difference when you’re managing a baby at dinner. Matt and I shared a pasta dish and a salad that was the kind of comfortingly good Italian food you’d be happy to eat anywhere in the world, not just “good for Uluwatu.” It’s relaxed enough for an early family sitting but polished enough that it works just as well for a grown-ups-only dinner later in the evening.
For a night when you want something easy and reliably delicious, Osteria Luna is one of the most underrated dinner options in Uluwatu.

Teja has become one of those Uluwatu restaurants that keeps coming up in conversation, and for good reason. It sits right on the main Uluwatu road with a clifftop view that never gets old, and the food consistently punches above what you’d expect for the setting.
On our most recent visit we went for sunset drinks at Single Finn first – a tradition at this point – then walked to Teja for dinner. The sun was still low enough that the tables near the fire at the bottom level felt genuinely atmospheric. We ordered the ceviche, popcorn prawns, potato, steak, and tuna across the meal – everything was well-timed and beautifully presented, with the steak being a particular standout. It’s relaxed enough that you don’t feel overdressed arriving post-beach-club, but polished enough that it feels like a proper evening out.

Gooseberry is one of those restaurants that had been on my list for ages, and I’m genuinely annoyed it took me this long to get there. It’s a French bistro that’s been quietly doing its thing in Bingin for four years now – which in Uluwatu restaurant terms is practically a lifetime – and it has a loyal following for very good reason.
We went for lunch on this trip and kept it simple: steak and fries, a salad, a couple of drinks. Every single thing was done properly. The steak was cooked exactly right, the fries were the thin, crispy kind you actually want, and the salad was fresh and well-dressed rather than an afterthought. It’s not a flashy menu, but the execution is spot-on and the atmosphere is easy and relaxed. Just a genuinely great lunch in Bingin.
It’s a short drive from most of the main Bingin and Padang Padang villas and within walking distance if you’re based nearby. I’ll be making it a regular stop from now on.
